What is it?
It’s a sort of status and control touch screen you mount on your wall (in-wall mount is probably coolest, more on that later). I’m going to mount the screen in my hallway so that when I’m about to leave from the house I can know what time it is, what the weather is like outside, my agenda for the day, switch off all the lights (and turn everything back on when I return) and check if my g/f has uploaded any new images to our Picasa Web Albums account.
What is new?
Home.Control – Proof of concept (March 31, 2011)
Home.Control – Source code (April 1, 2011)
Where can I get it?
How do I use it?
Download the source code, put it on a webserver. Browse it with an iPhone, click add to home screen.
What does the future hold?
Plan as of 31th of March 2011: Beta release sometime soon w/source code
How do I get more information?
This seems truely awesome, what must be done to make the lights work. Also is it cool if I port this to iPad?
Buy a TellStick usb device (www.telldus.se) and as many compatible receivers ( http://www.telldus.se/products/technicalspecification ) as you would like. Then install their software and you are good to go!
Support for iPad is not a big job, hopefully I’ll get around to it sooner than later.
